Belle Fourche blows by Buffaloes

BELLE FOURCHE  — Stanley County suffered a difficult, 33-3, loss at the hands of a tough Belle Fourche team, but the Buffaloes knew they would be up against one of the best offenses they would see all season.

Pierre sweeps

PIERRE — The Lady Govs overcame a slump to take two wins away from the weekend Saturday, beating Spearfish in three games, before knocking off Sturgis in four at Riggs Gym.

Pierre gains experience from first competition

BROOKINGS — Pierre took 17 competitive cheerleaders to the Brookings Spirit Invite Saturday. The Lady Governors entered two teams in the competition: a stunting/tumbling small group team and a stunting/non-tumbling small group team. Three athletes participated on both teams: seniors Amy Miles and Samantha Bullard and freshman Tanna Becker.

Espeland again on top for Governors

HURON — Alec Espeland came up big for the Pierre Governors Saturday, and Bridget Simmons and Jamie Chalcraft continued to lead the Lady Govs in varsity cross country action Saturday in Huron.

Lady Buffs finish 4th at BDC tournament

FORT PIERRE — The Stanley County Lady Buffaloes survived first-round opponent, defeating Cheyenne-Eagle Butte, 25-22, 25-22, but falling to No. 1-seed Mobridge, 25-12, 25-23, in a tough bracket, Saturday during the Big Dakota Conference tournament.
