Education conference targets parents

PIERRE — A conference designed to help parents get more involved in their children’s education will be held Sept. 25-26 at the Ramkota in Rapid City. The event is hosted by the South Dakota Department of Education and the South Dakota Parent Information and Resource Network.
The event is designed to help parents find practical and effective ways to get involved in their schools, and specifically, in their child’s formal education. Topics include bullying to early learning guidelines, and parent compacts to financial literacy for kids.
