Rowena Rathbun, 83

Rowena N. Rathbun, 83, of 700 W. Alta Vista, died Nov. 3, 2009, at Ridgewood Nursing and Rehab Center.

Her body was cremated and no services are planned. Inurnment will be in Riverside Cemetery in Pierre.

Rowena was born Dec. 31, 1925, in Ottumwa, Iowa, to Lorenzo Powell and Merry Bell Richards Williams. She married Curtis C. Rathbun Dec. 18, 1972.

She was a dispatcher for City Cab for many years.

Surviving Rowena is her husband, Curtis; stepdaughter, Margaret “Peg” Krallman, of Little Rock, Ariz.; stepson, Curtis Warner, of Little Rock, Ariz.; step-granddaughter, Jennifer Warner; and brother, John Williams, of Ottumwa.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Williams; and three sisters, Lillian Justice, Olive Francis and Maxine Whemanen.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Seton Catholic School.

Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa, Iowa is in charge of arrangements.
