Visitation is from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 11, at Isburg Funeral Chapel followed by vigil and rosary at 7 p.m. at the Maryhouse chapel. Services are 10 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 12 at Maryhouse Chapel with burial at Spring Hill Cemetery in Gann Valley.
Frances was born on May 22, 1919, in St. Louis, Mo. to Bernard and Catherine (Konnersmann) Macke. She grew up and attended school in St. Louis. In 1943, she was united in marriage to Gerald Gaulke, and in 1947 they moved to a farm near Gann Valley where they lived until she moved to Pierre in 1975.

She enjoyed embroidery and helping others. In Pierre, she was employed at Taco John’s and Country King were she was well-known as “Grammy.” In 2002, she moved to Maryhouse where she resided until the time of her death.
Frances is survived by her three children, Geraldine Aman, of Sioux Falls, Laurene Wieczorek, of Pierre, and Tom (Teresa Disburg) Gaulke, of Phoenix Ariz.; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Anna Ade and Dorthy Matejka; and dear family friend, Ethel Fry.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gerald; and three sisters, Agnes Bolin, Marie Matejka and Rita Farmer.
