Delaine Kolbo, 72

Delaine Kolbo, 72, of Pierre died Sunday, Nov. 15, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls after a brief illness. She was surrounded by her children and four sisters. Visitation is from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18 at Isburg Funeral Chapel. Services are 11 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 19 at Lutheran Memorial Church with burial at Riverside Cemetery.

Delaine was born on Oct. 8, 1937, in Britton to Carl and Caroline Johnson. She grew up in Langford, graduating from Langford High School.

She was united in marriage to John “Jack” Kolbo on Feb. 8, 1957, in Langford. Delaine worked for the Public Utilities Commission.

Delaine dearly enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She loved traveling, playing golf, relaxing by the lake, playing shuffleboard and working at the PUC.

Delaine is survived by mother, Caroline Johnson; three children, Kirk Kolbo, Jackie Smith and Stan Kolbo; two grandchildren, Jeffery and Jessica; two great-grandchildren, Gage and Garrett; and four sisters, Vollie Ann Williams, Wanda Harris, Carol Layson and Faye Harding.

She was preceded in death by husband, Jack; and father, Carl.
