As Bob Ellis
reported last night, Thad Wasson has ended his long-shot campaign for Congress.
The official confirmation, surprisingly enough, came in an email from Rep. Blake Curd's campaign manager — announcing Wasson was endorsing Curd:
Dr. Curd brings a wealth of experience to this position. He has served our nation honorably in the Air Force, he has run a successful business and met a payroll and understands the danger of government debt handed down to the next generation.
I'm not sure Wasson has a constitency this endorsement brings with him. But it's good news for Curd, who's less well-known and less well-liked so far among both Republicans and statewide voters than Secretary of State Chris Nelson. Every endorsement is meaningful for an underdog, especially since I imagine most of the state Republican establishment will endorse Nelson. It'll be interesting to see where this primary battle ends up going.
