"I join with many South Dakotans tonight in celebrating the victory of Massachusetts Senator-Elect Scott Brown. This is an important win for America and for South Dakota, for Brown will be the 41st Republican Senator, and so throws a wrench into the Pelosi-Reid-Obama plans for the worst health care bill in American history. "Scott Brown’s victory means even more, a Republican winning in blue Massachusetts is a rebuke of the direction of Washington’s Democrat leadership. I find the same sentiments exist in South Dakota as I talk to the people in my travels across our state. We insist that our elected officials listen us -- not hide and not duck and not merely wait for the vote-count and cast a carefully considered politically expedient vote. South Dakotans demand more, and that has been a great factor in my decision to seek the South Dakota people’s seat in Congress."
