Less than a week after formally unveiling his Congressional campaign, Sioux Falls minister Steve Hickey has dropped out of the race and endorsed one of his erstwhile rivals, Rep. Kristi Noem, R-Castlewood.
Hickey reportedly plans to focus on running for the Legislature.
It's also a sign that the Noem candidacy is going to be an enduring one. So far Rep. Blake Curd, R-Sioux Falls, has a lot of support from his fellow legislators, and Secretary of State Chris Nelson has support from a lot of people connected to the Rounds administration. But Noem is making a decent-sized splash in her first week in the race.
