Pierre airport saw only 9,174 boardings in 2014; feds could cut $850,000

Only 9,174 passengers boarded Great Lakes Aviation aircraft last year at the Pierre Regional Airport to fly to Denver or Minneapolis, according to figures released Tuesday by Mike Isaacs, airport manager.

Financial Aid night will be on Monday, Jan. 5th at 7 p.m. in the Riggs Theatre at T.F. Riggs High School in Pierre. Juniors and seniors and their parents interested in learning about financial aid for college and learning about filling out the FAFSA financial aid form should plan to attend.

German–Russian essay contest deadline announced

Rapid City − The Black Hills Chapter of the Germans from Russia Heritage Society has announced its annual essay contest for middle school, high school and undergraduate students. The essay can have many formats but must deal with some aspect of German-Russian history. Students need not be German-Russian to enter. The purpose of the essay is to encourage students to study the colorful history of the German-Russian people.
