Michael Lawson, author of “Dammed Indians Revisited,” discussed the impacts of damming the Missouri River while aboard the Capital City Queen on Sunday. The talk and book signing began at the Cultural Heritage Center and continued during a two-hour cruise on the river.
Lawson’s book, which is an updated version of his 1982 text, was chosen by the South Dakota Humanities Council as the 2012 One Book South Dakota. This was the first time that a book published by the South Dakota State Historical Society Press was chosen.
