Sneakers squeak and markers fly as a swarm of young girls scramble across the gym floor. They’re participating in a relay, and at the other end of the gym lie two poster boards with letters A through Z, waiting to be written on.
The object of the game is to be speedy while also thinking of something they’re thankful for that starts with each letter. This is no simple task, especially when a third-grader is trying to spell ‘elephant’ or brainstorm the letter ‘X’ as quickly as possible.
