PIERRE, S.D. (AP) — U.S. Attorney Brendan Johnson says a federal grand jury has indicted 13 people for allegedly trafficking drugs in South Dakota’s Jackson and Shannon counties over a four-year period.

The investigation dubbed Operation Eagle Eye was conducted by a drug enforcement task force comprised of federal, state, tribal and local officials.

The suspects face drug conspiracy and distribution charges for alleged offenses from October 2008 through last month.

One of the suspects is from the town of Interior and the rest are from Wanblee. They range in age from 22 to 58.
