Jerold “Jerry” Hirsch, 65, of Blunt, died Sunday, May 9, in rural Pierre. Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, May 17, at Faith Lutheran Church in Pierre, with burial at Riverside Cemetery.

Jerold Hirsch was born in Huron on Jan. 13, 1945.

At a young age, his parents moved to the Joe Creek area near Pierre, where they farmed. He grew up in the Pierre area where he attended and graduated from Pierre Riggs High School in 1963. After graduation, he held various jobs and was most recently a crop adjuster.

Jerold enjoyed collecting model cars and paintings. He especially loved to travel.

He is survived by his wife Connie, of Blunt; daughter, Sandra (Joe) Lopez, of Pierre; three grandchildren, Chris, Beth and Nina Lopez; one great-grandchild, Abela Lopez; and his mother, Clara Hirsch, of Pierre.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Hirsch Sr.; brother, Robert Hirsch Jr.; and two infant sisters.
