Thank you PJ! I know you are a man of your word and that you do all that you can to keep us citizens of Pierre safe. You do a fine job and I for one know that the entire PPD is a great bunch of people! THANK YOU!!

Dear Wow, Please show me WHERE in my comments did I say I hate the police. I did NOT say that, and I don't hate anybody. It would be nice if the police and all our authorities would take it upon themselves to make the first move toward a friendly gesture instead of looking at those of us who wave as if we have some kind of hidden agenda. All we're doing is simply saying Hi. What's so wrong with that??!! DUH...

People can't even say anything nice when the PD is being highlighted in a positive way. This town will never stop surprising me. You hate them, yet you still expect them to wave and smile. Hypocrisy is an ugly thing.

By presenting a positive image that was mentioned in the article I'm sure that include frequent trips to the watering hole for choir practice and of couse why because they can. I've read the whole series now and it seems to me that the Pierre Police Department is once again trying to clean up their image. A starting spot that would work, Start over they have the new chief now work your way down starting with the assistant chief.

Is this article supposed to be a public relations stunt to improve the image of the PPD?

In the training and evaluation of police officers projection of image - please encourage them that there's nothing like a good old-fashioned wave to passrersby or other motorists. Seems like years ago they all waved back when waved at, now NONE of them wave or return a wave, they just look at you funny. Do they think this is some sort of bribery or what?! Do they think we're all flipping the bird?! We're not! Be reminded that SD is a small, friendly state, therefore we are known for generally giving kind gestures to others FIRST.
