The Pierre City Commission approved moving more than $2 million in expenditure authority from the city’s emergency flood fund to the appropriate departments in the city’s budget during Tuesday’s meeting.
The $2.12 million was authorized to help with the city’s ongoing repairs from the 2011 flood, but came out of a flood fund set up last year. Those costs now show up in the city budget under their appropriate sources, such as the general, capital improvement and electric funds.
