Dear Editor:

As one of those whom the Capital Journal dubbed as “loons,” I would like to add food for thought. Throughout history, God has used weather to discipline His people, the most famous example being Sodom and Gomorrah.

The bible warns that in the last days one will see floods, tornados, hurricanes, fires, volcanoes, tsunamis, famines, earthquakes, plagues, wars and rumors of wars, etc. Today’s society has the morals of dogs in heat, people of all ages unabashedly live in sin.

Question: Have you noticed any of these events occurring throughout the world?

Mr. Parsons,
With all due respect, I think the moral fiber in this country is rising as tolerance, love for one's fellow human beings, and the Golden Rule become the way of life instead of hatred, intolerance and the 'My way or you're evil!' mentality. And can you name a single century that did not have "floods, tornados, hurricanes, fires, volcanoes, tsunamis, famines, earthquakes, plagues, wars and rumors of wars, etc."?

Lastly, if I remember correctly, the two cities you mentioned were consumed with 'fire from the heavens' - not by the kind of natural disaster we are seeing today, but by a true miracle.
