Shaquille O'Neal has never been shy to express his opinion no matter who felt offended by that. This hasn't changed now that he's an analyst, and Shaq feels more free to speak his mind, especially on NBA-related topics.
“I always think that if I wouldn’t have got hurt, we could have at least made it to The Finals,” Shaq told Heavy. “I always say that. I wish Danny (Ainge) didn’t trade Perk (Kendrick Perkins) that year, because, I mean, we were like No. 1 throughout the whole year.
“I was just a role player then, but if we’d have made it to this thing, I would have f***** LeBron and D-Wade up in the playoffs. I promise I would have. That would have been my role. Like, as soon as they come to the hole, touch ’em up.”
Shaq is confident as they come, and this isn't the last time he'd make these types of takes. He's been very active discussing the NBA playoffs, and recently sent a message to the Celtics, asking them to leave Jimmy Butler alone or the player would take things personally.
The Celtics have a mission tonight, beating the Heat and securing a Game 5 in this series that didn't start the best way for them.
Shaquille O'Neal Admitted He Was Ring Chasing When He Joined The Celtics
O'Neal has revealed that he tried everything to win a fifth championship, and his move to the Boston Celtics was a ring-chasing one. Unfortunately, that second-round series marked the end of Shaq's era in Boston and the NBA, which was ended by LeBron James and Dwyane Wade.
The Heat would become a nightmare for the Celtics, and the next year, they came back from a 3-2 deficit to make it back to the Finals, with LeBron going off on the C's.
