The Central Cabarrus boys basketball team isn’t done playing just yet.
Central Cabarrus, which capped an unbeaten 32-0 season last week by winning the NCHSAA 3A state championship in Raleigh, has accepted an invitation to participate in “The Throne” National Championship Tournament that will be held in Atlanta March 29-April 1.
The Vikings will play in the event as a club team called the North Carolina Vikings. All games will take place at Morehouse College.
The Vikings have received the No. 9 seed and will play No. 8 seed Dorman (SC) in the opening round at 10:30 a.m. on March 29. The game will be televised on NBA TV. Games will also be televised on Fox Sports 1 (FS1).
Sixteen team from throughout the United States have accepted invitations to play in the inaugural event, which is being organized by the NBA Players Association and Gold Level Sports & Entertainment.
The tournament will be a four-day, single elimination event.
