The Capital Journal received some great photos for this week's Community Art. Unfortunately, there isn't enough room on the Dakota Life page to print them all, but too many is always a good problem.
A complete selection is available online at capjournal.com.
Maria Jhing Hayes, Roger Edwards and the Capital Journal's Marylinn Baker returned this week with photos from around Pierre and Farm Island.
Hayes sent in a nice silhouette of someone fishing on the Missouri River, noting fishing is good again.
Edwards shared a few photos, with two from Farm Island. He said one is a woman showing a boy some song birds and the other has an eagle in its nest.
Edwards also sent an excellent photo of a squirrel people watching on Monroe Street. From the intense look on the squirrel's face, it seems it's enjoying the sights.
Baker also shared several photos from her yard. She had no shortage of birds stopping by for a visit with wonderful pictures of a white crowned sparrow, cardinal, white throated sparrow and a couple of cedar waxwings enjoying a snack on a lazy day.
Baker said she was particularly excited to see the cardinal appear for the impromptu photo op.
If you have photos to share in Community Art, send them to Editor Jorge Encinas at jencinas@capjournal.com. Be sure to include the when, where and who took the photo.
