Free magic show a hit

Jeff Quinn’s free “Reading Safari” magic show, sponsored by Rawlins Community Library, saw a packed gymnasium floor at the Pierre YMCA on June 12. Quinn called for volunteers, and kept the audience - youth and adult - engaged. Quinn teaches magic classes, and is traveling to libraries throughout South Dakota this summer. This year he incorporates animals for the library’s Summer Reading Program “Tails and Tales.” He will also perform different shows in Steamboat Park during the Pierre Oahe Days. Shown is a brave volunteer discovering a suddenly-appearing ferocious grizzly bear - a teddy bear - that she could keep.
