Savannah Loesch, a Pierre-Fort Pierre member of the South Dakota High School Rodeo Association (SDHSRA), was awarded the Stanley Post 20 American Legion Rodeo Americanism Buckle and a $50 scholarship, according to a news release. The award was presented at the 4th of July Rodeo held at the Casey Tibbs Rodeo Arena in Fort Pierre. Stanley Post 20 American Legion began the Rodeo Americanism Award Program in 2017 to encourage and reward high school rodeo students who practice Americanism and good citizenship in their everyday lives. To compete for the award, high school cowboys and cowgirls must be members of the SDHSRA and practice as many Americanism and citizenship tasks as they can in the allotted time. American Legion Commander Kim Hallock presented the award to Loesch.
