The Stanley County Buffaloes football team hosted the Parkston Trojans at Ole Williamson Field in Fort Pierre on Friday. The Trojans came away with a 43-22 victory.

It was the Cole Prunty show in the first half as the Parkson quarterback ran for 109 yards and three touchdowns. Prunty added a passing touchdown to Max Scott, while Payton Albrecht had a 32 yard interception return for a touchdown. The Trojans led 35-0 at halftime.

After a scoreless third quarter, the Buffs came alive. Senior quarterback Lathan Prince ran the ball in for a two-yard touchdown to give the Buffs their first points of the season. Prince added a 14 yard passing touchdown to Gavin Irving to make the game 35-16 in favor of the Trojans. The Trojans, playing with backups, scored on a touchdown pass from Kaleb Weber to James Deckert with nine seconds left to make the score 43-16. Irving returned the ensuing kickoff for a touchdown to put the final points on the board for the Buffs.

The Trojans (1-1) will host the Garretson Blue Dragons (1-0) in Parkston on Friday. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. CT. The Buffs (0-2) will play the Bon Homme Cavaliers (0-1) in Tyndall on Friday. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. CT. There are no lights at the field in Tyndall.
