The Pierre T.F. Riggs Governors boys and girls soccer teams faced Watertown Arrows at the PILC Soccer Complex in Pierre on Tuesday.

The Govs boys tied the Arrows 3-3. Kasey Broers and Rylan Derry scored a pair of goals in the first half, and the game was tied 2-2 at halftime. Derry scored another goal to tie the game up 3-3. Both goalkeepers and defenses played stout in the final moments to end the game in a tie. Govs junior goalkeeper Carson Ahartz had ten saves despite missing a chunk of the game after getting kicked in the face. Arrows eighth grade goalkeeper Blake Hight had six saves.

The Govs girls won 1-0. Govs freshman midfielder Grace Richter scored a goal on a rebound in the 64th minute. The Govs outshot the Arrows 14-4. Govs senior goalkeeper Jenna Gehring had two saves.

The Govs boys (3-2-1) will play the Mitchell Kernels (0-3) at Joe Quintal Field in Mitchell on Thursday. That game is scheduled to start at 4 p.m. CT. The Govs girls (5-1) will play the Kernels girls (1-2) after the conclusion of the boys varsity game.
