No washing off this makeup: New service offers permanent beauty

PIERRE — Amy Campbell’s work is raising eyebrows.

And, extending eyelashes.

And, creating full, pouty lips.

Campbell opened Beauty Enhancement by Amy in April.

She has more than 23 different colors for eyebrows and lips, designed to match to the skin color rather than the hair color.

Campbell is a permanent makeup artist and a certified para-medical micropigmentologist. Her services include permanent makeup including eyebrows, eyeliner, lip liner, full lips, eyelash extensions and para medical service including skin needling, collagen induction and scar camouflage.

She uses topical numbing agents while doing the procedures.

“Knowing that I use some kind of numbing agents always makes people feel better and more comfortable,” Campbell said.

Beauty Enhancement by Amy officially opened April 1 and is located at 127 W. Dakota Ave. She shares an office with Monroe Chiropractic.

“I started the business because it is something we didn’t have here, and it was big on the coasts,” Campbell said, “My patients have shown me there is a need for it here.”

Costs for the procedures vary depending on what procedure you have, but Campbell is offering discounts running until August.

Campbell will have a grand opening on June 5 from 1-4 p.m. where anyone interested in getting any of the procedures done can see patients that have had eyebrows, eyelash extensions and lip liner procedures. They can ask questions, see the office and look through Campbell’s portfolio. At 3 p.m. Campbell is offering a live demonstration of skin needling.

Consultations are free and there are no obligations to have a procedure.

Before having a procedure, patients pick out colors and talk about the procedure. After the procedure, patients get healing instructions and ointment.

About four weeks after the procedure, patients have a follow-up appointment to touch up any pigment that didn’t hold. Campbell said the procedures usually last four to five years, as long as the patients use sunscreen.

Campbell attended the Academy of Cosmetic Arts and Sciences, which is recognized by the Florida Department of Education.

Campbell said she tries to stay flexible, so her hours fit into the patient’s schedule. She can be reached at 605-222-6132 for appointments.

Campbell also will be offering her services once a month in Box Elder at the Nocturnal Tanning and Hair Studio. The number there is 605-791-3003.
