Roxanne Smart, 72, of Belle Fourche and formerly of Britton and Pierre, South Dakota passed away Thursday, September 13th at her home.
Roxanne was born January 17th, 1946 in Redfield to Harvey and Florice Binger. As a young girl she lived with her family in the Tulare, Doland, and Britton areas. She graduated from Britton high school in 1964.
Roxanne married Bill Smart on September 5th, 1965 in Britton. To this union four children were born, Kenneth, Keanen, Krinda, and Kirsten. During this time Roxanne worked as a CNA at the Marshall County hospital.
In February of 1978 the family moved to Pierre where Roxanne worked at the town library. Later, she became a daycare provider for many years. Most recently Bill and Roxanne moved to Belle Fourche in the spring of 2015. She was a member of Saint James Lutheran Church. She enjoyed watching birds from her deck, and was always very fond of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Florice Binger and grandchildren, Khailer and Kayne Smart.
She is survived by her husband, Bill Smart; Children, Kenneth (Nichole) Smart, Keanen Smart, Krinda (Chris) Fox, and Kirsten (Myles) Bierema; Grandchildren, Jesse (Brianne) Fox, Morgan Smart and fiancé Danny Manning, Owen Fox, Kieran Smart, Taten Fox, Khalan Smart, Ridge Bierema, Ada Bierema, and Brady Trambly; Great-grandchildren, Uriah Grassrope, Isla Fox, Alzadden Grassrope, and Blaise Manning; Siblings, Dallas (Judy) Binger, Ron (Jean) Binger, Kathy (Ron) Symens, and Marty (Kathy) Binger.
Visitation will be held Monday, September 17th from 5 to 8 PM at the Kline Funeral Chapel in Belle Fourche. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, September 18th at 11 AM at Pine Slope Cemetery in Belle Fourche.
