Sylvia Bryant, 86
Sylvia Sidney Bryant, 86, of Gettysburg, passed away Monday, November 23, 2020 at Avera Oahe Manor, Gettysburg.
A private funeral mass took place Saturday, November 28, 2020 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Gettysburg with Father Jerry Kopel presiding. Burial followed in St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery, Seneca.
Sylvia Cadotte was born February 28, 1934 in Fort Yates, N.D. to Raymond and Melda (Demery) Cadotte. She attended grade school at St. Joseph’s Indian School in Chamberlain, S.D. and Stephan High School at Stephan, S.D. She was awarded a scholarship in nursing to attend Mount Marty College at Yankton, S.D. then transferred to Pierre Nursing School at Pierre, S.D.
On March 13, 1954, Sylvia married the love of her life, Keith Bryant, Sr., in Pierre, S.D. She was employed at the Oahe Manor Nursing Home in Gettysburg for over 42 years.
Her hobbies were her children and grandchildren’s sporting events, sewing and baking.
Sylvia is survived by her husband of 66 years Keith Bryant Sr., Gettysburg; sons, Gary Bryant, Blunt, Bob (Brenda) Bryant, Seneca, Monte (Jody) Bryant, Gilbert, Ariz., Keith Jr. (Jane) Bryant, Sturgis, and Steve Bryant, Seneca; daughters: Victoria (Ronald) Spaid, Blunt, Denise (Doug) Cronin, Huron, Kateri (Lon) Perman, Sturgis, Lynette Bowden, Hutchinson, Minn., and Cindy (Chris) Zion, Loves Park, Ill.; 31 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; brothers: Raymond Cadotte Jr, Albert Cadotte and adopted bother Anthony Stricker, all of Wakpala and Harlan Cadotte, Rapid City; sisters: Victoria Roberts, Yakima, Wash., Mary Jane Campell, Renton, Wash., Amelia Cadotte-Brewer, Wakpala, Stella Swiftbird, Belen, NM, Cheryl Cadotte and Valarie Coon, both of Mobridge.
Sylvia leaves behind many special friends.
Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond Sr. and Melda Cadotte; sister, Kathryn in infancy; brothers: Milo, Charles Sr., and Nicholas Cadotte; granddaughter, Breezy Bryant and grandson, Jon Hamper.
