The Stanley County Buffaloes gymnastics team hosted the Hula Luau at Rise Gymnastics in Fort Pierre on Saturday. A total of six teams saw action in the competition.

As a team, the Buffs placed fourth with a score of 126.750. Chamberlain placed first with a score of 135.600.

The Buffs were led by senior Sumar Petersen, who placed 11th in the all-around with a score of 32.550. Petersen, who is the lone senior for the Buffs, was honored for her contributions to Buffs gymnastics. Junior Elena Hebb placed 13th with a score of 31.850, while sophomore Rachel Nemec placed 15th with a score of 30.600. Hebb had the best individual event performance when she placed fourth on the balance beam.

The Buffs will next see action at the Linda Collignon Invitational in Madison on Saturday. Starting time is scheduled for noon.
