Fresh off their high scoring classic the night before, the Pierre Trappers faced the Badlands Big Sticks at Dakota Community Bank and Trust Ballpark in Dickinson on Wednesday night.
The Trappers got on the board in the first inning when Alex Gonzales, Nick Altermatt and Zane Phelps came across to score. The game was scoreless for the remainder of the game up until the bottom of the ninth inning. Jared Dinisi came into the game to close things out for the Trappers. He gave up three runs to the Big Sticks. He pulled from the game, but the damage was done. The game went into extra innings. The Big Sticks won 4-3 in the 11th inning when Anthony Tulimero scored on an A.J. Fell error.
Dallas Bryan earned the victory for the Big Sticks. He allowed zero runs on zero hits in one and two-thirds innings. Fell took the loss for the Trappers. He allowed one run on zero hits in one and two-thirds innings, walking one.
The Trappers (7-10) and the Big Sticks (12-5) met up for the final game of their three game series on Thursday night. The game was not completed as of press time.
The Trappers will host three games against an expansion team in the Fremont Moo starting on Friday. First pitch for Friday and Saturday games are scheduled to be at 7:05 p.m. CT. Sunday’s first pitch is 4:05 p.m. CT. There are several game day promotions for each game. Friday is Beef Night and Fireworks Friday. Fireworks will shoot off at the conclusion of Friday’s game. Saturday is Bark at the Park Night and Sip Happens Saturday. Fans can bring their dogs to the game. There will also be a performance by the Halftime Dog Show. There will be discounts on beer mugs. Sunday is Father’s Day and Sunday Funday. There will be bundle deals at the concession stands, including a family pack of hot dogs, cheeseburgers, popcorn and drinks.
